This is a small video I made for SSR London about Audio Mastering.
The upcoming Minology album is finished now and mastered!
The album was mastered at Area 51 studios in Farham UK, along with Justin Fraser and Marcel Limbeek; the Minology crew spent the whole weekend working on 12 tracks for the album utilising all analogue gear for the mastering chain.
We are working on some interviews which we will use for the making of the album with some nice very interesting stuff covering technical aspects of the creation of the album as well as anecdotes and special moments…
Watch this space!
After 5 years of recording, song writing, production and mixing, Jonathan Espinosa & Tony Calvo have finally finished 13 beautiful tracks which will be released end of 2015.
The album will be called ” Inner Sanctum “ and a brand new website, logo and huge marketing campaign will follow soon with official launch party and more!
Mastering is booked for 5th and 6th of September and teasers will be out first…
This has been one of the most difficult tracks I mixed for the album…with a gospel choir, string quartet, sitar, flamenco guitars, electric distorted guitars, plenty of flamenco live percussion and the amazing voice of Gavin Holligan makes this track unique for Minology.
Everything was mixed across the console using lots of tasty analogue gear including Cartec Pultecs EQP1A, Thermionic Phoenix, Thermionic HG15, UREI 1176, Shadow Hills comp, Focusrite Red EQ, Roland Space delay, Lexicon vintage 224, Lexicon PCM70’s and more Lexicon H300! for time based effects. yeah I know I love lexicon sound 😉
2 tracks left.
I recorded Javier Moreno & Amigos in the studio as a live to stereo recording onto 2 tracks DSD conversion. Javier was awarded as best latin american singer in the 2014 LUKAS latino grammy awards.
The band performed live in our live room 1 at SSR London through our Neve VR console, using very high quality A/D’s and carefully placed microphones, EQ, compression and some reverb, the whole performance came together.
This is just a quick video of the recording.
